Dear adventurers in the unknown world,

Adventures are challenges which present us with any number of dangers and difficulties, but we carry on with them, having faith in ourselves and those with us.

Science and technology provides us with new modern adventures, providing new possibilities into further unknown worlds.

Although Seiji Uchida and Kyoga Ide have serious physical challenges, they still are determined to tackle 4,000 meter high snow-capped Alpine mountains.

How brave and tough they are, and what wonderful support they have. It is wonderful that so many people, such as Ken Noguchi and the developer of the "HAL" robot suits were so impressed by their efforts that they joined in.

I wish them every success in their attempts to tackle the unknown.

One day, when I was about 10 years old, I went on a class excursion and climbed a mountain.

One of the other kids in my class helped me by pushing my wheelchair with all his strength. Another went in front and removed the small stones and branches, allowing me to get through there easily. Everybody's face turned bright red and they all got dirty. I can never forget the moment when we arrived at the top of the mountain. We all cried, "I made it!" and we ate rice balls. I remember mine tasted delicious!

My classroom teacher says, looking back on those days, "Because we worked together and did those great things together, our class at school became a great class."

Ordinary people and those facing physical challenges seem always to be divided.
However, cooperation between both groups, working towards one goal is a very important ideal in these days where we all have to live together.

I am cheering for the Dream Mountaineering Team to reach the top of the Breithorn, and set such a wonderful example to us all!
